New BLOG: kikaykalaykay.tumblr.com

Hahaha! The name came from the pet name my father used to call me when I was little. There was actually an EVOLUTION in my nicknames:

Karen to Kaye to Kikay to Kalaykay to Kalayks to Kikay Kalaykay and back to Kaye.

Kikay Kalaykay was the longest nickname I've ever known. And it belongs to me. Haha.

I really really REALLY don't want this to be the last entry. I don't know. It's hard to let go. Sniff. Hahaha. What the heck, I'm still excited to use my new blog.

E-mail me at karengonzales15@yahoo.com for.. uhm.. whatever you'd like to say. BYEEEEEE!

I created my Tmblr account already.

I've decided to LEAVE Blogger. I know. I'm sad, too. But I really want a change. I've used tons of other blog hosts before I finally settled to Blogger. It's so easy to use and I love that I can change my templates whenever I want. Plus, there are thousands of designs to choose from on BlogSkins.

Change and Music. Two reasons. I can't always embed different music players on my blog. I want uniformity. Hehe. Tumblr's user-friendly also. Don't worry. I won't delete this blog. It would kill me if I did. Too many memories. They don't deserve to be trashed.

Expect more photos, music and rants on my new Tumblelog. I'll post the link as soon as I figure out a really nice and appropriate URL. I could change the URL anytime and as often as I want. Not a good thing though because it'd be harder for my avid readers (i.e. my MOM) to find my site. Wee-wolf is very unique and I don't think "KINALAYKAY" (to rake) will beat that. I could use Kalayks, sure. I'll think about it.

Fortunately, this won't be the last post. :)

Tired but happy. Commerce Celebrity Duets (Professor-Student version). Medicine Auditorium. Sir Anthony Altarejos, Finance professor. "Impressive!" Haha.

My jaw hurts. Laughed a lot. UST looks sooo Christmas-y! Lots of lights. I love it very very much! I couldn't take a picture on my camera phone because it doesn't take pictures nicely.

I am deciding whether to move to another BLOG HOST or stay with BLOGGER. I've been using Blogger for years but I want a change. Also, I want to directly upload music files on my blog instead of using online playlists.

Options: Tumblr, Weebly and Blog.com.

I saw Katy Perry's blog and found it really cute. I went blog-hopping and proved that Tumbr's probably the best choice. I also searched for Tumblr themes and liked the simplicity. I'm going to miss this blog though. I'll update you soon.

title: As you wish...

I love this film! It's so low budgeted and romantic and old and extremely funny and I love that the male lead character's name is Westley, which has a slightly different spelling from my Wesley but still, I love it. Haha. (MY Wesley? Really? Hahahaha. )

Growing up, I've become so used to watching movies with visual effects created with the help of computer technology and the props carefully thought of and delicately made. In The Princess Bride, the fight scene between Westley (*Eeeeeh!*) and Inigo Montoya was shot at a studio decorated with painted cardboards and boulder paper maches which were supposed to make the set look like a ruined structure near a cliff. Haha. And the ROUSes (Rodents of Unusual Size) were scary- but funny-looking!

I love Cary Elwes, the lead actor. He's so gorgey. Haha! I realized that he's the same guy who played Robin Hood in Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993), which is one of the super funniest movies ever made!! Robin Wright Penn who played Buttercup, aka The Princess Bride, is so pretty. They were perfect on screen. I love all the characters! They weren't trying hard to be comical. Inigo and Fezzik the Giant are definitely my favorites.

Inigo Montoya: That Vizzini, he can *fuss*.
Fezzik: Fuss, fuss... I think he like to scream at *us*.
Inigo Montoya: Probably he means no *harm*.
Fezzik: He's really very short on *charm*.
Inigo Montoya: You have a great gift for rhyme.
Fezzik: Yes, yes, some of the time.
Vizzini: Enough of that.
Inigo Montoya: Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?
Fezzik: If there are, we all be dead.
Vizzini: No more rhyming now, I mean it.
Fezzik: Anybody want a peanut?
Vizzini: DYEEAAHHHHHH.

Hahaha. This film isn't all about the mushy stuff. Although there were a few kilig moments which, you are not mistaken, made me say "Awwww" fifty times, guys would love the action and the comedy. I'll make sure my 9-year-old sister sees this! I wish I did when I was younger. Go to your favorite video rental store or buy it on DVD or Betamax or VHS or download it on the Internet and check out this amazing film if you don't mind watching a movie with old-school effects. Hehe. :)

Grandpa: [voiceover] Nothing gave Buttercup as much pleasure as ordering Westley around.
Buttercup: Farm boy, polish my horse's saddle. I want to see my face shining in it by morning.
Westley: As you wish.
Grandpa: [voiceover] "As you wish" was all he ever said to her.
Buttercup: Farm boy, fill these with water - please.
Westley: As you wish.
Grandpa: [voiceover] That day, she was amazed to discover that when he was saying "As you wish", what he meant was, "I love you." And even more amazing was the day she realized she truly loved him back.

title: ethics.
time: 9:55 PM

I enjoyed watching Extreme Measures. Sir Cortez mentioned it in our Business Ethics class. I was intrigued and curious so I looked at Papa's DVD collection and found it, thankfully.

Hugh Grant and Gene Hackman play doctors. The ethical issue arises when Dr. Myrick (Hackman) performs spinal experiments on homeless people in order to find a cure for paralysis. Do you consider it morally right to do a medical research and use people as "lab rats" when, as a doctor, you think that there's a great potential that you could find the antidote to an illness that will benefit the whole society and make uncomfortable lives better? What difference does it make if you take away a person who has no family, no money, no food, no shelter and has absolutely no valuable contribution to the world?

The movie makes you come up with tons of questions. Sometimes it's hard to think of the right answer because you don't know where to base the moral integrity of it. Euthanasia, or mercy killing, is allowed in Switzerland, but is illegal in other parts of the world. Who dictates the rightness or wrongness of the practice? Is it the Bible? Lawmakers? Majority of the people? Medicine is susceptible to these kinds of ethical issues. It's a tough field with numerous tough dilemmas. I can't imagine how crucial it is for doctors to make decisions because with one mistake, their whole career and a person's precious life will be put at stake. There's always an issue between making a medical and a moral choice.

I think I'm going to love my Business Ethics class. The discussions are very interesting and I can't wait for Sir Cortez to mention another movie. I love watching films and I'm a fan . Go see Extreme Measures and take a stand. :)

"Those men upstairs, maybe there isn't much point to their lives. Maybe they are doing a great thing for the world. Maybe they are heroes. But they didn't choose to be. You chose for them... And you can't do that, because you're a doctor, and you took an oath. An you're not God. So I don't care if you can do what you say you can. I don't care if you find a cure for every disease on the planet! You tortured and murdered those men upstairs, and that makes you a disgrace to your profession!"
-Dr. Guy Luthan (Hugh Grant)

It feels really nice not to think about school on a Sunday night. Tomorrow's the celebration of the Immaculate Conception. No classes---in all Catholic schools, at least. It's great to take a day off from stress.

I've done nothing important today. I ate A LOT, that's what I did. It doesn't help. I lose self-control when it comes to food. I wonder how much time I have left before I weigh 200 pounds. I have to have those Fergie abs now! Haha.

I love the weather! It's raining and very cold. Reminds me of Forks and Edward Cullen. Wahaha. Okay, okay. I absolutely need to get over it.

I got a perfect score on my CapMar test! Wuhooo! BUT, I didn't do so well on my IE210 quiz. In fact, I got a really, really low grade. Kailangan talagang may balance? Haha. Still, I'm happy... and sleepy. This is why I love the rain. But I have tons of stuff to do. Awwww...

I'll sleep first. Hehehehehe! XD
