I'm Yours (cover) by Chris Cendana finally. a great piece of real music. although the song was just a cover, originally performed by Jason Mraz, i really fell in love with the way Chris Cendana has put his own style into it. and the beat? my God, it was perfect! i especially love the CUP part.. i think the inspiration came from the HappySlip Jingle. despite the whinings and all that crap, there were still some fun and interesting stuff that happened since last week. the highlights are:1. khrystian, my 13-year old brother, was elected as FIRST YEAR REPRESENTATIVE in their high school. the excerpts from the speech that made him win: "kung iniisip niyo na lahat ng mga basketball players ay may mga ugali na hindi maganda, ibahin niyo ako..." "kapag binoto niyo ako, magpapa-cheeseburger ako!" (from that famous McDonald's commercial) hahaha. it was me who told him to say the latter. he was actually absent for three days, monday to wednesday last week, because we went to apply for a passport. so he wasn't able to join the room-to-room campaign. the elections happened on friday and before that was the grand rally where the candidates were given a chance to promote themselves for the final time. that was khrystian's only opportunity so he asked me to help him think of a perfect speech. i immediately remembered the McDo commercial because during the UAAP basketball games, there's this portion where a group of students is shown on TV. tapos in the background was the cheer "Burger! Burger! Burger!" haha. that was the only thing i contributed in the speech though. the rest was probably khrystian's idea. congrats, bro! you make us more proud. 2. i got really huge PASA on my thighs and knees from last saturday's football training. (first of all, what's the english term for pasa?) i missed three consecutive trainings before that so i made up for the time i didn't attend, thus, a completely battered body. haha. i super had fun though. it was the first time in years that i played while it was raining hard. :P 3. i bought my own spikes last monday. it was on sale in adidas' outlet store in tutuban mall. thanks to luck, i got a 60% off! wuhoo. lovelove my new shoes. i feel really sorry for my nike running shoes, which i use during trainings. it was soaked in mud, sweat and water and i don't think it will last another day on the field. hehehe. and, lastly... 4. mayor rosario camma of nagtipunan, quirino wore a g-string on the red carpet before President Arroyo's SONA (State of the Nation's Address). 'bahag' talaga yun, which is a traditional ethnic costume, i just called it g-string, well, because it totally looked like an underwear. he really caught my attention, the whole country's actually. i can't believe he wore that to a formal event. and how did the people seating beside, at the back of and in front of him feel about sitting next to a man whose half naked? and wasn't he freezing in that attire? good thing he brought tons of confidence and pride with him because i seriously couldn't pull that off. come to think of it, he really made a buzz wearing that completely inexpensive piece compared to those lady politicians and the wives of the other government officials (slash socialites) who spent P30,000-P150,000 on just one gown! honestly, it's a ridiculous amount... and so are they. the sad part of it though is that i couldn't find a picture of mayor camma on that g-string. there's no video covering the sona red carpet on youtube either. i wanted to post it here so you guys could see, if you haven't watched/read the news in the past days. oh well. what's the most effective cure for LAZINESS? seriously? ang tamad ko! lalo na sa school. what the hell is happening to me?! i have a fin104 quiz tomorrow and a law recitation covering one whole chapter. the most frustrating thing is that i DON'T CARE. it's weird. at times like this, i used to panic and stress so much about it. but now, it's totally different. it's like i've grown tired of school and studying. this is not me. i've never been this lazy before. where is this coming from? i've talked myself into persevering because there's only less than a year left before graduation. but i really really lost self-discipline.it's sad because i'm giving myself and other people another reason to become disappointed. also, i'm completely aware of this problem and yet i'm not putting extra effort into dealing with it. sucks. bahala na. whatever is the outcome, i'll accept it. i guess i just have to learn the hard way. --------------- P.S. Did you know that the name MARY means rebellion and/or bitter in Hebrew and in English? That KAREN in Scandinavian, Greek, Latin, Swedish, French and Danish means pure? let's do some countdowns:1. 9 days to go before i get my PASSPORT. wuhoo! can't wait. :) 2. 5-6 absences more before i get an FA (failure due to absences) in law1.. booo! 3. 8 days to go before peace will be disturbed.. again! the family will come to manila to celebrate kiara's birthday and also to drive mama to the airport which will happen.. 4. 9 days from now! :( 5. 2 and 1/2 weeks to go before the prelim exams. mama bought shirts and jeans from Bench last night so she got three free tickets for the Experience Blackout denim and underwear show for tomorrow. i'll definitely and willingly go for two reasons: 1.) the word "free" excites me and 2.) the fact that it's one of the biggest events in manila. unfortunately and unshockingly, the seats are in the general admission which is super far from the runway na. mama said we should bring binoculars na lang. haha. as much as i want to, i don't think the guards would allow us anyway. hahaha. i'll just keep the tickets to remember how i ALMOST watched an underwear show. haha. date: Friday, July 18, 2008

OMG. you have no idea how much i'm hurting right now! akala ko hindi na ako iiyak. i still have more tears to shed pa pala.i told my friends na hindi na ako masaya...sa school, ETCETERA. for some reasons, nawalan na ko ng drive para mag-aral. bigla na lang akong nawalan ng inspirasyon. ewan ko. it's just so difficult to take my mind off certain issues. ang hirap. sobrang hirap! :( sa akin lang naman, i'd choose the decision where no one would get hurt anymore. kumpleto nga, hindi naman masaya. i'd rather lose things and be happy instead of have them but be sad all the time. did you watch the UST-DLSU game this afternoon? grabe, it was freakin' exciting! i watched it on TV but it felt like i was really there. pag nanunuod kasi ako sa araneta or wherever, talon ako ng talon tapos sumisigaw, etc. eh kanina, kahit mag-isa lang ako, tumatalon pa rin ako! haha. tapos i kept squealing and saying, "Ay, tanga! Bakit hindi mo pinasa??" or "Ay, bobo! Hindi pumasok!" hahaha. feel na feel ko, in fairness. :P unfortunately, UST lost by ONE point. sayang, oo. but it was fine, really. kasi the game was so intense. at least the tigers have made a statement: they're back to reclaim the championship throne. o-ha? may ganun. haha.it felt like ages since the last UAAP basketball season ended. it's one of the few things i look forward to. wala lang. watching basketball takes off the stress from school, home and some other stuff. nakinood pa nga sila kuya alex at kuya paul sandali eh. kuya paul: "Uy, si Allera oh. Taga-diyan lang yan sa kabila eh." me: "Talaga po?" kuya paul: "Oo. Nakakausap ko pa nga siya minsan." me: "Talaga?? Crush ko yan eh." kuya paul: "Sino? Si Allera? Sige, sabihin ko nga." me: "Kuya, waaaaaag!!!" i've had it with my crushes finding out that i like them. mahirap pag nabubuking. hindi ako makakain at makapag-aral mabuti. hahahaha. joke lang. anyway, karol and i attended the football training. there were only five of us. my right foot hurts so baaaad! ate steph taught me how to do the penalty kick. i sucked! i kept hitting the top part of the ball instead of the bottom. i really need more practice. as soon as possible. on my way to the apartment, i saw this really familiar guy. i looked at him while i was walking and he stared at me too. we were 65% unsure whether or not we both know each other. finally, i waved my hand, hoping that he'd recognize me and wave back. well, he did nod his head back at me. great! then i approached him. i still wasn't convinced that he's the guy i know though. haha. here's the awkward conversation:me: "uy! papasok ka na?" guy: "hindi. pauwi na ako." me: "kamusta ka na? nag-iba itsura mo!" [wahaha.] guy: "ikaw nga dyan eh." me: "ang payat mo!" it seems like we completely don't know each other and we're just making conversation so as not to embarrass the other, right? i know. i thought so, too. in my head i was like, "what the f am i doing?! is this really the same guy i went to high school with?" so, to make sure, i asked. me: "wait lang.... mark joseph, di ba?" guy: "oo!" [whew!] me: "grabe, nag-iba talaga itsura mo. ahahahahahahaha" tumawa na lang ako eh. haha. grabe talaga! he looked really different. the last time i saw him was last december during the Paskuhan. he was with haydee and heidi (wehehe). we talked for like a minute or two then i took off with my friends to watch Parokya ni Edgar. i didn't notice whether or not he gained or lost weight then. good thing, he still remembered me 'cause if not, i may have looked like a moron waving my hand at a complete stranger and, worse, talking to one. date: Wednesday, July 16, 2008

i went to school wearing slippers.haha. i brought my school shoes but i didn't wear them. the rain this morning was awful, as well as the strong winds that came with it. my skirt got mud stains at the back. although i did come to school looking okay and a bit dry unlike those other people who were soaking wet. hehe. on the way to the classroom, lourdes said having water inside her flats was not the greatest feeling ever. "Subukan mo." haha. no, thank you. i'm fine with my slippers and muddy toes. we were all wishing that classes be suspended because the water in front of the building rose up to the ankle. the admin didn't announce anything though. i guess they don't want to make the same mistake they did last time. (classes were dismissed at 9:30 am due to heavy rains. then at 12 or 1pm, the sun was shining brightly. hahaha.) it was papa's birthday yesterday. he's 44 now. he doesn't look like he's in his 40s though. wuhooo, pasipsip. haha. love you, papa! oooh, i forgot to tell you that my cousin NICE and his dad, tito natz, are leaving for canada this saturday. i'm going to miss them! she's the most bibbo cousin i ever have and i'll definitely miss her song and dance numbers which never fail to entertain the family. hopefully, we'll see each other sooner than we think. :) date:

i can't believe LOST's season 4 has only 14 episodes and that the next season would air on january 2009. it SUCKS. it really does. it took me only two and a half days to finish the whole season. then i have to wait for SIX MONTHS for the next one??? on the brighter side, i will have more time to do my home work. no more "mamaya na. nuod muna ako." haha. sacre bloody bleu. my study habits aren't so good these past few weeks. the laptop and tv always find a way to tempt me. haha. damn them! honestly, i can't keep up. everyone in class seems completely sure that they belong to FINMAN. they are so attentive during discussions. i have this thought that they enjoy every course we're taking. as for me...my God. you have no idea how bored i am with credit & collection (FIN103)and banking institutions (FIN102). i don't know if the problem is that i don't like the teaching strategy of the profs or i plainly dislike the subjects. i still have my doubts. i seriously don't have any idea why i'm here. most of my life, i see myself travelling around the world, exploring famous places. it was the reason why my first choice is to take tourism. and yet, i didn't take the freakin' interview so i ended up in commerce. why, oh why?! in the past two years, i've been convincing myself that commerce isn't bad at all and that i may have a future in the business industry. i was also super excited to take finance because i supposed that NUMBERS are fun. math has always been my favorite subject so i figured i'd be alright. unfortunately, simply solving numerical problems was not enough to let myself fully believe that this was right for me. i don't know. my mind's messed up. I'M MESSED UP. i can't imagine that until now, i haven't figured out what i want. i just wish that i won't end up having no regular, high-paying job in the future. i really want to do something i enjoy and completely love. although i have no clue what that is... yet. also, i hope that i won't disappoint those people who expect so much from me. i seriously don't want to let anyone down, most especially, my 'rents. in the meantime, i swear that i'll do my best to finish what i've started and, with any luck, bag an award or something. you never know. i don't want to put pressure on myself though. i just want things to go real smooth. i want to be able to savor the moment of failing and succeeding. also, i'd be glad to learn, on my own, from my wrong decisions so i could make better ones. i hate being rushed. i don't learn quickly so usually, i would rather take my time. kaya sorry kung hanggang ngayon, hindi ko pa alam kung ano ang gusto kong mangyari sa buhay ko. i'm really just a late bloomer. date: Sunday, July 13, 2008

it's been a shitty weekend although i did have fun hanging out with the youngsters. my life has been on a roller coaster this week and i definitely want to throw up and just get it over with.what made me feel a whole lot better was the Sunday mass this evening. Fr. Loi/Loy shared about the importance of listening. he said that if we tried, as in really tried, to listen, then we'd be able to understand one another a lot better. "A husband came from work and said to his wife, 'Sweetheart, pahingi ng kape.' Dapat we should read between the lines kasi yung husband, he's telling his wife na itigil na yung pagme-make-up, itigil na yung ginagawa niya, yung panonood ng TV, etcetera. Kasi naghahanap yung asawa ng ATENSYON! pero ang narinig lang nung wife eh yung word na 'kape' so anung sinabi niya sa asawa niya? 'Kape? Andyan sa lamesa oh.' Sabay turo gamit ang nguso. Biruin niyo, mas matangos pa yung nguso niya kaysa sa ilong! Ayan ang problema sa karamihan sa atin ngayon. Hindi tayo marunong makinig." he demonstrated that when you remove your left ear, then your right ear and put them together (WARNING: do not try this at home. hehe), what shape does it form? a HEART. so then he explained that we should all listen with our hearts. when Fr. Loi/Loy was 9 yrs. old, he shared that he lost his father. his mother said to him and his two other brothers, "Ako na muna ang magtatrabaho." Fr. Loi said that he understood. she wasn't only trying to tell them that from that day on, she would be the only person supporting the needs of the family. what she said also meant that life would be more difficult and that they, the kids, would have to study harder, refrain from going out with friends too much, stop spending on unnecessary things and rebel against the family. he completely understood kasi nakinig siyang maigi gamit ang puso. i don't have to elaborate more on the moral of the sermon. i'll just leave you with your own reflections. i have great news and bad news.bad news first. the prettiest bag i've ever had for half a day is gone. yes, the one i bought last sunday. and yes, the one i was bragging about. i returned it at celine yesterday because the zipper was broken. i checked it before i bought it and it was fine. but when i got home and transferred my stuff, sira naman! the manager at celine-moa made me pick another bag with a different style kasi lahat daw ng stock nila are also broken. i was like, "eh bakit pa nakadisplay kung sira naman pala lahat??" i was freakin' furious kasi i really liked the bag. in short, i ended up choosing a firetruck red ladies bag, which is also pretty but my first choice was prettier! i haven't even spent a day with it tapos binalik ko na. i even forgot to say goodbye. :'( haha. me: na-depress ako. i rily wanted dat bag. cguro ndi talaga pra sakin un. maan: di bale, may darating din na right bag. haha. good news: 1. i got a really good first quiz grade in law. :) 2. despite what jim said about my new red bag last night which made me angrier and sadder, my Dam classmates loved it. ha! jim, you are a man. you have absolutely no idea what a great bag looks like. 3. wolfie and i will finally see each other again this friday. the last time we went out was during my 18th birthday last year. tagal noh? hehe. i missed her! 4. i think we did really well on our eco report. dr. dinio said "alright, we started off great." yesss! hard work paid off. special thanks to my groupmates! anyway, i have to go kasi i'm trying out for the women's football team. note: football aka soccer. not the american football. wish me luck! :) |
