despite the whinings and all that crap, there were still some fun and interesting stuff that happened since last week. the highlights are:

1. khrystian, my 13-year old brother, was elected as FIRST YEAR REPRESENTATIVE in their high school. the excerpts from the speech that made him win:

"kung iniisip niyo na lahat ng mga basketball players ay may mga ugali na hindi maganda, ibahin niyo ako..."

"kapag binoto niyo ako, magpapa-cheeseburger ako!" (from that famous McDonald's commercial)

hahaha. it was me who told him to say the latter. he was actually absent for three days, monday to wednesday last week, because we went to apply for a passport. so he wasn't able to join the room-to-room campaign. the elections happened on friday and before that was the grand rally where the candidates were given a chance to promote themselves for the final time. that was khrystian's only opportunity so he asked me to help him think of a perfect speech. i immediately remembered the McDo commercial because during the UAAP basketball games, there's this portion where a group of students is shown on TV. tapos in the background was the cheer "Burger! Burger! Burger!" haha. that was the only thing i contributed in the speech though. the rest was probably khrystian's idea. congrats, bro! you make us more proud.

2. i got really huge PASA on my thighs and knees from last saturday's football training. (first of all, what's the english term for pasa?) i missed three consecutive trainings before that so i made up for the time i didn't attend, thus, a completely battered body. haha. i super had fun though. it was the first time in years that i played while it was raining hard. :P

3. i bought my own spikes last monday. it was on sale in adidas' outlet store in tutuban mall. thanks to luck, i got a 60% off! wuhoo. lovelove my new shoes. i feel really sorry for my nike running shoes, which i use during trainings. it was soaked in mud, sweat and water and i don't think it will last another day on the field. hehehe.

and, lastly...

4. mayor rosario camma of nagtipunan, quirino wore a g-string on the red carpet before President Arroyo's SONA (State of the Nation's Address). 'bahag' talaga yun, which is a traditional ethnic costume, i just called it g-string, well, because it totally looked like an underwear. he really caught my attention, the whole country's actually. i can't believe he wore that to a formal event. and how did the people seating beside, at the back of and in front of him feel about sitting next to a man whose half naked? and wasn't he freezing in that attire? good thing he brought tons of confidence and pride with him because i seriously couldn't pull that off. come to think of it, he really made a buzz wearing that completely inexpensive piece compared to those lady politicians and the wives of the other government officials (slash socialites) who spent P30,000-P150,000 on just one gown! honestly, it's a ridiculous amount... and so are they. the sad part of it though is that i couldn't find a picture of mayor camma on that g-string. there's no video covering the sona red carpet on youtube either. i wanted to post it here so you guys could see, if you haven't watched/read the news in the past days. oh well.

Uy! Mayor Camma, halos wala ka ng saplot.. Pa-cheeseburger ka naman! Burger! Burger! Burger!
